Workshops & Events

Growing our community...

We will continue hosting a barrowload of exciting workshops & events at our much-loved Green Space plus other venues, all geared to help our community learn an abundance of skills in self-sufficiency & sustainability. All Food Is Free Inc. events held at Food Is Free Green Space will have the option of running the workshop in the hall onsite, in case of bad weather. Our workshops always go on – rain, hail or shine!

Food Is Free Inc. believes everyone is entitled to access food security education, and always reserves a few spots for our community members restricted in attending financially, to come along for free to our Green Space workshops. If you’d like to learn more, contact us at info@foodisfree.com.au

We hold our community and your health very dear to our hearts, and therefore all Food Is Free Inc. events have COVID best-practice protocols in place in accordance to the latest Victorian State government health department advice, plus our own COVID-Safe Policy/Procedures. Together we can create change...

We literally love hosting workshops – it’s at the very core of what we do with food security education. Afterall, our catchphrase is “Together We Can Create Change!”

We love learning together as a community on how to become stronger and better connected, plus more sustainable via these grassroots-focussed all-inclusive workshops & events.

Did you know we hosted 48 workshops & events attended by over 860 community members from Sept 2019 – March 2020 (which was when the pandemic hit, forcing us to cancel the remaining 17 scheduled to take place)?

Some of the topics we cover include basic gardening, soil health/worm farming/composting, backyard chickens, bee-keeping, bush craft, food preserving, organic pest management, gardening photography, kids gardening, recycling + gardening, etc.

Plus we always welcome new workshop topics and new workshop facilitators – please email your ideas to info@foodisfree.com.au.
